The COLLEGE NOW Program, an agreement between Clatsop Community College and regional high schools, allows students to earn college credit for competencies mastered in certain high school courses. You can earn both high school and college credits at the same time.

COLLEGE NOW credit is available for course work in office systems and industrial & manufacturing technologies.

To participate in the COLLEGE NOW Program as a high school student, you must:

  • Take office systems classes, medical assisting, fire science, or industrial & manufacturing technologies classes to obtain the knowledge needed to pass the competencies;
  • Complete each competency with an acceptable rating for achievement - meeting 90 percent of the competencies, or earning a grade of "B" or better.

By participating in COLLEGE NOW, you can:

  • Earn college credits at a lower cost while still in high school;
  • Get a head start on the college's office systems, medical assisting, fire science, or industrial & manufacturing technologies programs;
  • Reduce the amount of time you spend earning an Associate of Applied Science degree;
  • Avoid duplicating courses you've already completed in high school;
  • Receive a specialized, professional-technical education to better prepare you for entry-level employment and career achievement.
